Kendrick Hill Tribou, 78

Hyannis - Kendrick Hill Tribou, 78, died April 22, 2003, at Cape Cod Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Plymouth, he graduated from Middleboro High School in 1942 and then entered the Naval Cadet School, receiving his wings in 1944. He was an instrument instructor at Pensacola, Fla., and in 1967 became commander. He retired from the Navy after 30 years and became a real estate broker. He was a Hyannis resident.

Cmdr. Tribou was a member of the Retired Officers Association of Cape Cod and a 50-year member of the Dalhousie Masonic Lodge in Newtonville. He had a passion for flying and being a ham radio operator. He was known for his handyman qualities and had a fondness for animals, especially dogs. He loved to travel, especially in his motor home, and spent a lot of time at his retirement home in Frostproof, Fla.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mildred I. (Cushing) Tribou; two sons, Kendrick Henry Tribou of Mansfield and Edward D. Tribou of Beverly; a daughter, Michelle G. Tribou of Chatham; and two grandsons.

A funeral service was held at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis. Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
