A member of FISTS, The International Morse Preservation Society, founded
in 1987 to further the use of CW on the amateur bands.
Tom was also a member of Monongalia Wireless Association.
Thomas Richard
Ebeling 58, of La Poc Village, Core, WV, passed away suddenly, Saturday,
Aug. 6, 2005, at his home. He was born June 28, 1947, in Wheeling, WV.
Thomas served in
the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era and later earned a master's
degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University.
He recently
retired as an Officer from the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health
Service after working for 30 years at the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health. In his brief retirement, he enjoyed
golfing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in
death by his mother, Matilda Bellville Ebeling and uncle, Joe Ebeling. He
is survived by his father, Charles Ebeling; his aunt, Annie Ebeling, his
brothers, Charles Ebeling Jr. and Bernard Joseph "BJ" Ebeling; his
companion, Nancy Floyd: four children, Cindy Officer, Alicia Bebout, David
Freeman, and Brianna Butler; three grand children, Jordan, Wolfgang and
Dylan Officer, former wife Rebecca Sadler and several other family
members.
A life taken too
soon, he will be deeply missed.
A Memorial service
will be held at McCulla Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug 11, with
Pastor David Pettit officiating. The family requests that donations be
made in Thomas's name to WVU Children's Hospital, Medical Center Drive,
P.O. Box 8200. Morgantown, WV 26506.
