Takhli RTAB served as a mission center for early U-2 missions and based Detachment 12, 10^th Weather Squadron and USAF 355th Tactical Fighter Wing flying missions over Laos and North and South Vietnam.  Station AI8AF provided them with access to morale and welfare phone patches and messaging.
