ESCONDIDO ­­ Nevin Russell Kitterer, 81, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Palomar Continuing Care. Born June 16, 1920, in Fort Morgan, Colo., he lived in Escondido for 20 years.  He retired in 1982 as a sales manager from Telex Communications.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired after 20 years of service.

Mr. Kitterer was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Kitterer, in 1995.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Bob and Annice Kitterer of Solana Beach, Tom Kitterer of Oceanside and Rick and Ellen Kitterer of Vista; brother Murlin Kitterer of Florida; and granddaughter Amber Forrester.  A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, May 31, at San Marcos Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hard officiating. Inurnment will follow.  The family suggests memorial donations to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, PO Box 555006, Camp Pendleton, CA 92055-5006.
