Camp Wilkinson, was named for CM1 Jack W. Wilkinson, East Islip, NY, Killed In Action August 30, 1967 at Phu Bai while serving with NMCB-3.  The camp was part of the Camp Eagle complex, about six miles southeast of Hue, the country’s ancient imperial capitol.
