May 14, 1965     -  A detail of one officer and seventy-four enlisted men from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Nine arrive in DaNang, Vietnam to assist Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Three's advance party in construction of the first Seabee camp at DaNang Main (Camp Hoover) near Hill 327.

MCB 10 took over the camp in 1966 and Lt. George Moss, USN began manning the MARS station N0EFH.  EA3 Clay Conard in possession of a General Class Amateur License was commandeered soon after his arrival in September of 1966 to help with operating chores.
