Commissioned as the Marine Corps Depot of Supplies on March 1, 1952, the Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB), Albany as it is now known, is located in Georgia's Plantation Trace.  Construction completed by 1954 the station was sufficient to assume supply support for Marines in the  Atlantic area, east of the Rocky Mountains.  Albany is approximately 3 hours South of Atlanta.
