SP4 1/69 – 6/69

I was on a mortar (4.2) barge in the harbor at Dong Tam. It was close to Thanksgiving. Went to the MARS station to make a call. They had posted a request for volunteers to operate station.  Sounded a lot better than mortars.

Made a call to the White House one night (still have phone #) but got in some trouble over that one.

It beat the heck out of the infantry!  Met a lot of Navy people and always enjoyed helping them talk to loved ones.       Back to Top
